Welcome to TT Mt Eden,

We, the Mount Eden Village People, are dedicated to positive change towards a more sustainable lifestyle within our community.

Our steering committee is a small team of four, working together to communicate our vision for Mt Eden.

To make transformation happen, we are working together with people in our community and other community groups.

At the moment we are working on the following projects:

• Fruit tree planting in schools and kindergartens
• Fruit tree planting on council land
• Community garden
• Minimising waste
• Plastic bag free Mt Eden
• Holding workshops on growing food in the city
• Food swap at the Mt Eden Village Fair at the Mt Eden Village Centre every last Saturday of the month
• Community beehives

We are always looking for new people to get involved, so please get in touch if you would like to get more active with any of our existing groups or if you want to join our monthly meetings.

Fruit trees for Auckland on Youtube

On Sunday the 29th of July 2012, we provided 520 fruit trees to local schools, early childhood centres and Transition Town groups. All 520 fruit trees from the 2012 project now have their roots down all over Auckland.  The 3 main aims with this project are to support families with lowering their grocery bills, encourage local food production, and teach children how to plant and care for fruit trees. We'd like to thank all the teachers, parents and volunteers for getting involved and sharing our vision of free and healthy food.
