Hi everyone,
Happen Films has recently released Living the Change: Inspiring Stories for a Sustainable Future, which tells the stories of folk around New Zealand who have made lifestyle choices or have projects underway that offer resilience to their family and / or community. Here's the trailer:

Over 60 screenings have been held around NZ and the world since the film’s release. Has anyone hosted a screening in your community? Would you be interested in doing so?
We’ve kept our public screening licence fees as low and accessible as possible, including a $40 licence for free screenings (a koha could be requested for the organiser to cover that fee).
You can see a list of the screenings we’re aware of so far at http://livingthechangefilm.com/find-a-screening and more info about licences on the Host a Screening page of our website.
Here are reviews from some local screenings that have already happened:
We just had the screening in Stratford today and it was a huge success. We had a total of 70 viewers come (a big achievement for a small town theatre) and from all around Taranaki. After the film I facilitated a forum about what we are doing here in Taranaki and what the future holds for us, where around 50 people stayed behind. I'm buzzing out about how great the turnout was, how great the doc was, and how beautiful the new connections that were made are. So thank you!
– Ness Radich, Taranaki
We showed this documentary in Rawene tonight and it was excellent. I've been involved with permaculture, gardening, organics, & environmental activism for a long time and I've seen (and shown) many movies on similar topics. To date this is the best one I've seen. Beautifully grounded, pulls no punches about the gravity of the situation we face but gives excellent examples of credible and achievable solutions. Highly recommended. The examples are from around New Zealand but are equally relevant in the rest of the world.

We filled the main auditorium at the Carterton Events Centre for the movie Living the Change, brilliantly produced by New Zealanders, Jordan Osmand and Antoinette Wilson. It shows people who are defying the overlapping threats to human existence by turning their backs on our consumer culture. It is devoted to solutions. Its subjects are sustainable farmers and people who compost, reduce their waste and promote community action and local currency. The message from all of the experts and practitioners is that we must learn to live more responsibly, eat less meat and buy less in order for the human race to survive. The proof of its effectiveness was in the intense discussion that followed and in a follow-up meeting to ask What's Next? I would encourage everyone to see this stunning documentary.
