COMING EVENT:

The Mapua Big Night Out Clothes Swap

Saturday July 25th, 7:30 PM, Mapua Hall

Ladies, get some friends together for the inaugural Mapua Big Night Out Clothes Swap. We promise you a fun and social evening, a new wardrobe, some mulled wine and supper and a chance to help us fundraise for some local environmental projects. Tickets cost only $20 and are available from Tessa Maes, Zoom Hairdressers, Mapua Country Trading and Mahana School.

Earth Hour was a success

Earth Hour was held on Saturday March 28th.  We showed the film Solar Energy: Saved by the Sun and then switched off the lights for a "solar supper".  This was a feast of local produce by solar light with a demonstration of solar technology.

 

Recent events: OPEN SPACE MEETING held Saturday February 28th, at the Mapua Hall

22 Mapuans joined the discussion on how Mapua can become a more sustainable and vibrant community.

Library

We are very lucky to have the support of the Mapua library. We are amassing a selection of books related to climate change, peak oil, and sustainability in the library. Many of these have been donated by individuals. For a list of books available click here
