Steering Group Meeting Minutes - 24 November 2008

Present - Barb, Belinda, Mike, Tom

1. Brooklyn Fayre Saturday 29 November

Staffing - Tom to draw up rota and e-mail round group

Belinda to contact Transport Group people and establish when they are available to run the survey

Cash Box Tom to bring box, Belinda to give Koha envelope to dawn to use as float.

Prizes Barb still following up worm bin, if not able to get one in time for the event then we would borrow one for display purposes and give winner a voucher to collect bin later.

Belinda to design the Gift of Time voucher prize

Tickets - Tom to buy a book of tickets to save Barb time and stress of creating some.

Flyer Barb to finalise and send to Belinda on Tuesday to get it printed up.

Labels Barb to create some labels for stall minders and transport survey people to wear.

Belinda and Dawn to make Christmas Tree and decorations to hang on it.
Barb to create some generic business cards that we can hand out to people who might be looking for a speaker/interested in TT Brooklyn

2. Publicity

Tom to find additional photographs from the Ning. Barb to get poster printed and Laminated
Tatler, Barb to put together something for tatler which will cover official status, next meeting and when we will be back in action after christmas hols.
Official TT status Publicity - Mike and Barb to crat something to send to various media outlets. Barb to bring camera to Fayre for possible publicity shots - Big worm attack in Brooklyn!

3. Brooklyn Christmas Event

Our final event of the year will be on the 10th December
Community centre has been booked
Megan is unable to attend, Dawn to continue to follow-up possible speakers.
If no one else is available then we will each have to be prepared to share/demonstrate one sustainable tip/item each.
Belinda to rework poster as the yellow woman wasn't speaking to anyone.
Barb thought it might be nice to bring some food offerings to share (the kind of things that you might make as gifts.

4. Climate Action Festival

6th December Waitangi Park
Belinda and Mike to be the Brooklyn contingent on the stall
Juanita is keen and will bring some publicity materials
Belinda and Mike to take Brooklyn materials

5. Submissions

Discussion of what involvement we might want in Resilience event next March - decided not to get involved officially as didn't think it would generate any more members for Brooklyn
Wind Farm - Barb to circulate some wording that we could agree to support as Brooklyn TT steering Group.

6. Fund raising

Barb shared an idea about fund raising

7. Steering Group

The food group have nominated an individual to be the rep on the steering group.
Belinda to write to person and invite them to next steering group meeting to discuss the role.
