Meeting 23 April 2008: Transition Towns

A small group. Barbara gave introductions and we watched An Intro to Transition Towns with Jo Duff, followed by an update from the steering group and group discussion.

Paul Bruce informed us of City Safari:

Navigational contests like orienteering and rogaining usually require you to move on foot. The City Safari lets you use Public Transport: buses and trains! Use your head instead of your legs to get partway to the control points. Each control has a score, the winning team collects the biggest score in the allowed time: 6 hours or 3 hours.

• Would like the buses to run on time!
• I would like to establish a “Hitch and Ride” scheme.
• Low student fares for tertiary students, they bring vibrancy to our city.
