The Great Brooklyn Frock Swap - IS NOW FULL

We are now up to 100 registrations so are sadly unable to take any more.
Looking forward to a great night.

Please pass this information on to your friends and lets make a really fun evening of it. It would be great to see you there.

Reasons to Attend

Revive Your Style

Revamp your wardrobe with something new. Your life changes, your body changes, your style evolves, let go of stuff getting in the way of you looking your best.

Feng shui your closet
Frock Swap is a brilliant way to de-clutter your wardrobe (most of us only wear 20% of what’s in there anyway), and when you pass on your unwanted items you get something in return. Remember that ‘someone else’s rubbish is another person’s treasure’!

The Self Esteem Booster

You get new (to you) clothes. You get the buzz of a trip to the shops without it costing the earth.

Reduce Your Waste

So we’ve all heard the 3 R’s; reduce, reuse and recycle, and here’s a chance for you to do all three. But the difference is that you get something in return. Reduce your waste and check out what’s available to you for less.

How it works:

1. Register online at belindasharp1@gmail.com put the word ‘register’ in the subject line.
You will receive an email confirming that you will be attending.
(Please pre-register by July 26, 2009 to ensure your spot in the event.)

2. Raid your wardrobe for between 5 and 10 (max) gently worn garments and/or accessories you think others will value but that you no longer wear. All sizes and styles welcome. Give them a wash, press and fold neatly so they’re ready for the swap. Whatever number of items you bring, that’s how many items you can swap for (eg: if you brought 6 items, you can leave with 6 “new” items). Remember, if you don’t bring anything you can’t “shop” – sorry, that’s how it works!

3. We’ll be holding a clothing drive a week before where we’ll either pick up the clothes from you or have a place where you can drop it off (where practical) to save time on the night. During this clothing drive, we’ll be confirming the number of items you have and we will give you the same number of vouchers to spend at the swap. We’ll hold your clothes so we can set everything up so it’s ready for all of you on the day.

4. Feel free to bring friends with you to the frock swap, even if they haven’t donate clothes – the shopping is only limited to people who’ve brought clothing but we welcome the public to come out!

5. At 7pm on the day of the Frock Swap, we will open the ‘store’ for browsing ensure that every guest has a fair hunt! The Swap will be officially open for swapsies at 7:30pm.

6. When you're all shopped out, guests will proceed to the check-out counter to sign out for their ‘new’ wardrobe. Remember you can take as many items as you bring.

Some handy hints to keep in mind:

• Please bring items you think others will value but that you no longer wear... and do give generously – if you’re not wearing it, pop it into the swap and have a laugh with the person who happily takes it home. Each and all of the following will be accepted: dresses, skirts, trousers, jackets, coats, suits, t-shirts, shirts & blouses, jumpers, scarves, gloves, hats, handbags, shoes & boots.

• We don’t discriminate against age, it can be vintage, but shouldn’t look tired.

• Please bring any extra hangers you have to hang the clothes and make sure to bring a big bag to carry your new finds! We also welcome anyone who’s willing to let us borrow a rolling rack or even donate one!

• Please check items for tiny spots, minor tears or missing buttons so we can maintain quality and make others aware of minor quirks

• It is essential that items are cleaned and presented neatly because that’s good manners!

• We welcome clothes and accessories of varying styles not just the ‘of-the-moment fashions’ as the style diversity is part of the fun. Womens clothes only at this event and no pants please.

• We’re open to any questions or concerns you might have so please don’t hesitate to contact us!

• Mark your calendar, you don’t want to miss this event.

• Relax, mingle, chat, complement, splurge, get spoiled and share.
• *FREE* tea and cake shall be provided

• Spread the word! since good news travels fast !. We want you and your friends to have a great experience at our clothes swap, feel free to message us your comments
