Strategic Plan to Raise Awareness In Wairarapa

1) Website

  • Updated with new sections - Wairarapa / Carterton
  • Added resources section
  • 50 word bios to be added

2) Articles

  • Pamela to update Wairarapa News article
  • Crier article - Heather Jones was critical of a number of aspects, we will ask Heather to write an article or review of the TT Handbook
  • Power of Community - could be profiled by Piers in WN

3) REAP Film

  • Pamela to introduce and facilitate discussion - Helen Or Sonia as backup
  • Introduction should include something about donations
  • Venue to be checked - key, projection gear is in place
  • Pamela is doing a spot on Access Radio on Wednesday and will plug transition towns and film 9.15 to 10am, will email the list with details
  • Individuals to email their contacts with an invitation to the film and an apology for duplicate invitations

4) Local films

  • Robin to still speak to Chris
  • Sonia to speak to schools
  • Sonia to find out about old picture theatre from land agent
  • compare rates between supper room at the municipal hall and council rooms

5) Stalls and presentations

  • Primer handout to be updated and printed for the coming Keith Locke stall
  • Also to have handbook and some books to do with peak oil on hand
  • Enquiry sheet - Robin to make, include 'passion' and offer of skills

6) Signature on email

  • ongoing - people should include if not already, Sonia has a slightly longer version available.

7) Flyers posters

  • Robin to finalise
  • business cards would be nice - maybe about $80

8) Radio

  • Spot on Radio NZ - maybe good to have a National focus - should we involve
  • Helen will try to get in touch with Chris Laidlaw who has a house in Greytown as does Fran Wilde

Other Business

  • Handbook
    • how do we present to library and is there an article in Wai News to follow up
    • What do we put in the front page of the book?
  • Money
    • There is one hundred dollars in the pool
    • Helen has a preference that it should go to a book, to be discussed with the rest of the group
    • Should be some from film koha
  • Mailing list - Robin to look into
    • Sonia to add some names to something
    • Helen to email Robin with Heather's boiled down version of a TT description, and website addresses
  • Heather Jones offers her services for information gathering tasks -
    • Helen will ask her to build the inventory
    • She is also creating a folder or booklet on carpooling options
