TALENTS on Valentines Day

Greetings all!

~ All Talents members are warmly invited to a 'romantic' pot luck lunch on Sunday 14th February 2010, at Motueka Community House, Deck's Reserve, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

This gathering is a combined social lunch, market and meeting. It will be a great opportunity to meet other members of Talents, see what they have to offer, and promote the goods and services you offer. It will also be a chance to put some faces to names, ask any questions you may have about Talents, and see how the system works in practice. There will be some discussion about the running of the system.

Please bring: your lover, food to share for lunch, something to trade or information about what you offer, any friends who want to join up, and your community spirit.

~ Talents is up and running, and trades are increasing. We have several new members in the last 3 months and some new offerings. If you haven't yet been able to get into the CES website to see what's on offer here's a new link which will help: www.ces.org.za. You can use your membership number and password to access it, then update your listings and see what else is available. The more you use it the easier it becomes, and the better it is for all of us.

~ We're planning a regular stall at Motueka market for a few weeks in February/March. Its purpose will be to promote Talents to the wider community, including regular market stallholders, sell produce, promote our goods and services, and offer the chance for people to ask questions about community currencies. If you are willing to help organise it, or staff the stall on a roster basis, and/or have some goods or services you'd like to promote there please contact Ron Sharp: 528 6483.

~ Currently available are goods as diverse as beeswax, books, hats, free range eggs, handwoven kete, homebaked bread and seasonal fruit and vegetables. Services available range from acupuncture, carpentry, counselling, engineering, and funerals, to French, German and Chinese lessons, massage, warrants of fitness and yoga classes.

~ And Parkes Automotive who offer WOFs for Talents are looking for a gardener. If this is something you can do please contact them.

~ You may have heard that one of our members, Hone, was involved in a road accident this week. Hone is in Nelson hospital for a few days. He tells me things are "ok at ds stage". We wish him well for a speedy recovery and hope he's back on the road soon.

Best wishes for the new decade!
