Learn to grow the soil that grows your garden, Urban Eden Workshops start January 26th

We have scheduled our first Wellington workshops for 2011! Details are below. Please note that we will still be running our two hour workshop series (starting Jan 26-Feb 23 in Brooklyn) but will also be running weekend workshops (first is Feb 19-20 in Upper Hutt) which will cover the whole series in two days.

Dirt Doctor has a lot of exciting events to look forward to in the new year, with workshops, schools, community gardens, new presenters and special guests! Soil - Transforming Grass into Garden

Feb 2, 5:30-7:30pm

Learn how to create productive and constantly improving garden beds using the soil you already have. Workshop includes discussion and demonstration of basic design, simple soil tests and easy double-dig methods.

Seedlings - Growing Healthy Plants from Seed

Feb 9, 5:30-7:30pm

Learn how to make your own seedling mix and the key steps to growing healthy, pest-resistant crops.

Weeds - Taking Out the Hard Work

Feb 16, 5:30-7:30pm

Learn when to weed, how to weed and why weeds are important for a productive garden. Discover how smart weed-management means less time in the garden.

Microbes - Bringing Life to Your Soil

Feb 23, 5:30-7:30pm

Learn why a healthy, living soil means less work for you and how to introduce beneficial microbes into your garden using compost and compost tea.
