Mid-winter Green Drinks – 28 July - with ukulele music and mulled wine
Join us for the monthly Green Drinks this Thursday, 28 July. As the winter is well and truly upon us we decided to warm body and soul with some good company, music and a warming drink – low carbon, sustainable and fun entertainment J
There is a budding local ukulele group in Invercargill. They are not professional and pretty low key. They will play a few of their 'stage' songs, followed by the usual networking over mulled wine or whatever. You may even get a chance to give the ukuleles a go – it’s easy, and catching.
Come on your own, or with a friend, and just ask, "Are you green?" and we will introduce you to whoever is there and make you welcome.
5.30pm to late (ukuleles from 6pm)
Green Drinks have been happening in more than 65 countries around the World, and in 15 towns in New Zealand. Every month people who work in the environmental field or are passionate about sustainability and the environment, meet up at informal social sessions known as Green Drinks. There is no organisation, no membership, and no lobbying for causes. It's usually just people getting together for a chat although occassionally there may be a speaker for 10 or 15 minutes introducing some interesting, positive topic.
In Invercargill, we are meeting every last Thursday of the month, upstairs at Zookeepers at 5.30 till 7pm, or late.
Location / Venue:
Zookeepers Café (upstairs), Tay Street, Invercargill
