Minutes of Transition Pt. Chev.

14 February 2012

1.    Arts and Harvest show

Geoff raised prospect of A & P type show to highlight the activity in the Point.  TTPC to join with other/s – perhaps school.  General discussion thought this a good idea perhaps for March 2013 or 2014.  Action: To be raised again at next meeting with view of forming a sub group to scope out what mght be feasible.

2.    Pontoon for Pt Chev beach

Keith spoke on pontoons he had seen at Cheltenham beach and thought they would go well at Pt Chev beach.  He would like to approach Auckland Council to see what can be done.   Action: Keith authorised to  approach Council in name of TTPC

3.    Purchasing Group

General discussion on activity of Group.  Some possible initiatives discussed and will be e-mailed to Group members to explore further.

4.    Soft plastic recycling

Discussion on scheme currently operating from Pt Chev Primary – also clean paper at Pasadena. Action:  Publicity on scheme to be refreshed.  Yolanda to prepare posters.

5.    2012 Activity

Access to Café coffee grounds to be explored.  Suggested they could be stored at Community Garden with people being able to help themselves when they had home capacity. Action: Ally to investigate and report back.

Collection of used batteries.  Action:  Crea to check with local Video store – Jenny likewise at Te Atatu.  Keith will obtain from his contact information on proper storage.

6.    Community garden report

Numbers have been dropping.  Need new recruits – particularly men.  Ally has canvassed Selwyn looking fo recruits.  Enjoyed a recipricol visit with Wilton St garden group.

7.    Heart Politics Summer Gathering – January 24th – 27th

An enthusiastic report from those who attended.

8.    Web site

Guido wishes to update website.  Action: Approval given

9.    Publicity for Group

Yolanda will “commission” and post new posters promoting TT Pt Chevalier
