"BUILDING LOCAL RESILIENCE in an Era of Economic Turmoil and Resource Depletion"

Entry by Koha
World renowned Canadian financial analyst and energy industry consultant Nicole Foss begins her 'NZ Lifeboat Tour' right here in Blueskin Bay, 7pm, Mon. 19th March. There are no bookings available so get in early to the Waitati Hall to ensure a seat to hear this engaging and sought-after speaker. Entry is by Koha. Peak Oil and the implosion of high-leverage finance schemes around the world are converging into a "perfect storm" that may threaten prosperity and social cohesion. The consequences are frightening: "hallucinating wealth" is vanishing, real unemployment is rising and social unrest is growing amid global tension over energy resources, food, water and land. Blueskin is connected, and what can families and communities do to prepare for these challenging times ahead?

Significant time in the second half of this special event will be dedicated to open floor discussion, with a diverse panel of spokespeople joining Nicole Foss for extended dialogue.

Panelists include: Charles Abraham (Charles is an investment advisor with Craigs investment partners Limited and has a particular interest in investment in ethical companies. He and his wife run a small block on the hill trying to be as self sufficient as the demands of work allow. He has contributed to the Blueskin Energy Project), Jackie Fanning (Jackie works from home and is heavily involved in Waitati Open Orchards and the Waitati Community Garden), and Murray Grimwood (Murray is a writer, blogger, activist and sailor who lives with Jenny in an off-grid house at Merton). The session will be moderated by PJ Clarke of BRCT.
This event is hosted by the Blueskin Resilient Communities Trust.
