Minutes of Transition Pt. Chevalier Meeting - 10 September 2013

1. Community market on August 24th was cancelled at last moment so no TT stall

.

2. Marketing group

• About me http://about.me/transitionptchevalier  is now live but there has been minimal activity so far. Facebook page was not progressed during month while awaiting Suzanne Kendrick lecture  on Facebook. Now able to proceed with development.
• Bruce would like to offer someone else opportunity to be e-mail monitor for the group.  No more than 5 – 10 minutes  time needed per  day

3. Community Garden

• Garden is looking good – activity now mostly on Fridays @ 3p.m. Compost making team has been active. Old Homestead building is set to be moved off site in October.  At this stage, garden probably can remain during redevelopment.
• Opportunity to publicise with Albert-Eden Community Garden Open Days 16 – 17 November

4. Positive stories - Attendees invited to report inspirational/positive stories.

• Adrian spoke of work of Adventure Bikes and the way they worked to help some of those less advantaged in the community.
• Yolanda spoke about the Happy Planet Index by Nic Marks in the UK (calcultates a nations welfare/wellbeing/environmental footprint)  as an alternative to GDP  (calculates a nations wealth)
• Deryn suggested that we could consider having an annual “Community Award”
