Mt Victoria March meeting - 'Who's Counting' DVD

Tuesday 11th March, at 7.30pm, at New Crossways, Roxburgh St. 'Who's counting' DVD. We will watch the DVD Who's Counting. In this feature-length documentary, Marilyn Waring demystifies the language of economics by defining it as a value system in which all goods and activities are related only to their monetary value. As a result, unpaid work is unrecognized while activities that may be environmentally and socially detrimental are deemed productive.
While this film was made some time ago by the Canadian Film Board it is very useful to understand more about the international economic system and we aim to follow up later in the year with developments since the film was made.
