Enthusiasm is building for an annual Opotiki Vegetable Growing competition, to be promoted to school children in the region.

Nursery Fruit Trees

A near perfect site has been found to hold hundreds of fruit trees before planting and distribution. All this site needs is a gate in the fence. So we are looking for help to find a gate somewhere and put it in the right place.

Centameter

A Centameter is a device that allows you to measure the power consumption of all your appliances, at any point in time. It is very responsive – turn on the jug and it shows in around five seconds. A read-out is provided in money, power or CO2 emissions. You can use the unit to establish how much different items cost to run and find the lowest-level baseline for your house, providing savings of up to $50 a month.

Centameters cost about $200 to buy new, and some are available occasionally on Trademe. This would be a valuable resource to add to our local lending library. On our wishlist.
