Dignan street party, 21st November 5-7pm at the bowling club car park.

Bex will make up a flyer to hand out at party with gardening purchasing group with Niki’s contact, gardening group with contact Ally’s e-mail address.  Also use the event as an opportunity to get contacts of people who might be interested in community gardens.

It was decided that the next and final TPC meeting for the year will be the Christmas party on 5th December tide 7.53pm Edith street end of the beach from 6-8pm, pot luck shared dinner.

She showed the group the students photographs on her laptop that will be submitted to New Zealand Life and Leisure for their March issue on Transition Town Point Chev.  The art director was so pleased with the results she’s dedicated 3 pages to the story.

Ally Gardening stuff

On November 5th we had a picnic at bowling club sitting on the Green that’s a potential garden space.  It was attended by Heidi, Arthur and 2 friends, Bex, Jack, Ally, Ellen, Jenny, Crea, Niki and Anna.  It was a lovely sunny evening and very sheltered.

There’s possibly a follow up meeting at the bowling club on Wednesday 26th, TBC.

Ellen organized a wonderful gardening visit on Weds 12th to other community gardens that work really well, to get ideas for the community garden.  Ellen, Ally, Jenny, Bex, Heidi, Ruth and Auda came along.  We visited Mangere Old School Reserve, Ngataringa organic gardens, where we had a lovely shared lunch, and Devonport Community Gardens.  There were a whole lot of ideas and possibilities that it highlighted that will need to be talked through with the gardening group.  Here are links to the pics on facebook

TTPA march

A group from TPC meet and amnd marched under the TPC banner, Jenny, Ally, Ellen, Yolanda, Len, Crea and Heidi.  Bex and Deryn were also somewhere in the crowd.  The group felt inspired to continue action about it so agreed to send out e-mail to contacts about Action Station, TTPA website.

Deryn- civil defence

Deryn is really sorry but she’s found she’s too busy to take this on at the moment.  If anyone else wants to take it on contact Deryn.  Communities looking after each other, civil defence to happen within the communities.
