2013 Programme
Transition Towns Mt Victoria
2013 Programme:
Tuesday 19th November, at 7.30pm, at New Crossways, Roxburgh St. 'The Nature of Cities' DVD. We will watch the 2010 DVD 'The Nature of Cities'. This is a one hour documentary about the projects and people in cities across the world who believe that, even as we become more urbanised, we must reclaim an essential piece of our humanness - our connection to the nature around us. Amazing projects in cities around the globe have already begun this task. It is our goal to raise the consciousness and understanding of this movement as we explore the need of moving not only to sustainability, but also to a regenerative way of living. This is particularly applicable to Wellington now that it is a Biophillic city.
Please note this is the third Tuesday, not the second Tuesday of the month when our meetings are usually held.

Post meeting update: Mt Victoria Transition Towns showed the South Island of Our Green Roadie at the June meeting. About 15 people attended and the film received an excellent response. The three or so minutes on each of the different initiatives certainly whet the appetite for more and gave inspiration for the development of similar activities in our area. Which I guess is part of the aim of the film - to inspire the development of local and sustainable actions.
Anyone wanting the dvd can purchase it direct from the film maker. Emma Heke, emmaheke@xtra.co.nz or through her facebook shop www.facebook.com/OurGreenRoadie.
