Rob sings New Zealand’s praises in UK article!
New Zealand might be a small country, but we’re BIG on leadership!
In the recently published FOURTH WORLD REVIEW – a Transition Journal Rob Hopkins, referring to the way in which Transition has spread “with a virus degree of contagion” wrote:
“It really struck home to me when, before the Transition Handbook was published and before many films were available on-line, two people in New Zealand posted on YouTube films of themselves giving presentations about Transition, suggesting it as a route their own communities might like to follow. It was clear that they deeply understood the model, and that they had really got it.”
The article begins on page 13 of FWR, followed by the equally inspiring Co-Production: Valuing communities, saving democracy, by Edgar Cahn (page 17). And on page 21 Credit that doesn’t Crunch, by Peter North is also very relevant to Transitioners.
Fourth World Review, printed as A/5 booklets, is normally available only on subscription. However this issue has been made available in its entirety online. (Thank you, Jon, for agreeing to this one-off arrangement!)
Hard copies can be a great resource for those promoting Transition and Community Currencies. Groups could make copies available at stalls and events. Individuals could circulate copies among their friends, leave them in staff tearooms, give copies to local Councillors, community leaders and organisations...
1) Download the PDF and print it for yourself in whatever quantities you wish, or
2) Contact me (helend@contact.net.nz - phone 06 379 8034) to purchase at-cost printed copies.
Note also that I can arrange subscriptions to Fourth World Review, supply the Transition Handbook as well as books and DVDs on community currencies. Special deals for core titles are listed at www.le.org.nz/tiki-index.php?page=Resources
