Local Food book from TT

Positive TV meetup with Rob Hopkins to discuss his new book about local food and shares his passion for growing more nut trees and why Garden sharing are one his favourite projects.

This new book co-authored by Tamzin Pinkerton and Rob Hopkins brings together a very wide variety of projects, ideas, resources and information covering every aspect of developing local food supplies. There are chapters on skills, home growing, community gardens and orchards, food co-ops, schools projects and many more.

Many of the projects described have started up recently and are small scale but there are examples of major, long running schemes like Stroud Community Agriculture which has been going since 2001, and now has four paid farmers, a paid administrator and nearly 200 members!

I am delighted that there is some New Zealand content in this book, including Ooooby, the food growers and locavore network that started on Waiheke Island.
