LOCALISING FOOD – GROWING COMMUNITIES THROUGH LOCAL FOOD RESILIENCE - a campaign by Localising Food
We now live in times of increasing climate instability – floods, earthquakes and hurricanes. People need to prepare for these realities. We see costs of food continuing to rise, food security slipping, and an upward trend in people interested in growing their own food. The timing to act is now – people need these resources on the ground in communities around NZ.
Our team plans to travel around New Zealand documenting the many inspirational examples of innovative social food projects already happening on the ground – creating exciting educational videos to share with the nation and the world.
In each area visited we will also:
♥ Teach and document a series of ‘hands-on’ workshops, to get people growing at home and in community spaces
♥ Encourage active citizenship through education and discussion around recent food legislation
♥ Facilitate a one day workshop to advance Local Food Security Action
