Gardening skills share

Rimu's picture
A skills share focused on seed raising and with some discussions on vege garden design.

We will be making up seed raising mix, preparing seed trays and planting the seeds, along with some planning of our garden; deciding what we should plant and where it should go. We're also getting in a trailer load of compost for the garden beds and the seed raising mix, so it would be great if some people could give us a hand shifting that.

These skills are definitely relevant to this time of the year as spring is on its way and some veges should be planted out very soon. It will also be a great way of hanging out with other lovely people around Aro Valley who have similar interests while getting our hands dirty!

This is the first of many gardening events that we have lined up for the season. The next will be a garden-blitz where we will help to design a vege garden, taking into account permaculture principles, and then turn that into a reality. The thing is that we don't have a location to hold it as yet, so if you have a patch of land that you want to get some delicious, fresh food out of then have a talk to me, Simon or Anne on Sunday or send me an email.

Hope to see you in a few days,

Stuart Corbett

skill share

Hi Rimu,

my name is Leen. I recently moved to Wellington and am really interested in permaculture and community. I would like to get the Arlington gardens up and going again. What we're aiming at is one big skill sharing group that works together about once a week on a little plot of land on Arlington rd. This will become a paradise-like edible garden for the whole area.... off course!

we're just in the set up fase of the plan but we need loads of people who want to get involved, in any kind of way. Let me know if you're interested. my email is peentjeleeters@hotmail.com.

hope to hear from you.

toodles, Leen
