Survival Hawke's Bay

Survival Hawke's Bay Group

The group has been discussing the CD Rom peer review and notes the following:

  • Some first aid info is repeated
  • some information in the US Army Survival Manual is not relevant to NZ – could a NZ version be sourced (I have now investigated, but with no luck)?
  • contact has been made with Civil Defence in Napier regarding their assessment of the CD: considerable interest expressed in the topic of long-term survival, but so far no assessment undertaken.

The next meeting will take place at the environment centre at 4.30pm on Thursday 18th September. Agenda as follows:

Minutes - matters arising etc
•  copy of minutes from last meeting read?
•  a minute taker appointed for this meeting
Resources CD
•  feedback from distribution of evaluation copy
•  are we to progress with production?
•  if so, how (funding, duplication, promotion and pricing)?
•  who will do what?
•  timeline?
Website
•  has anyone managed to source relevant local material?
Where to from Here?
•  suggestion that regular formal meetings now evolve into workshops
•  aimed at producing specific outcomes (e.g. duplication and packaging of CDs)
•  while Tony is still happy to update the website and make requested changes to the CD,
would ask for a volunteer to take over duties such as publicity etc.
Next Meeting / or Workshop
•  date, time and place

Hope to see you at our next meeting.
