Winter Ready Roundhouse Build

Jorgette is moving into a 1/4 section of land with a few old trees and patch of brush. We are going to be building a reciprocating roof roundhouse what will be winter ready and a bit more permanent- with cob walls and a ranch slider.
We will be setting up infrastructure including compost toilet & solar shower that we will be building on thursday. Over the week we will also do a Permaculture design & build of water, solar, heating & growing systems. » Read more

The event was a huge success and attracted several hundred people throughout the course of the day. There was a fantastic range of stalls and demonstrations on the day including Native Tree planting, Biodynamics , Organic Gardening, chook raising, composting, Permaculture, Sustainable Living campaign, Marineland Wake Up to Waste, a good range of renewable energy providers wind and solar, alternative health options and sourcing good local food for health. » Read more

The event will be at Te Awanga Hall on the seafront. Sunday 30th August 10-4. The idea is for it to be a fun family day out. We will have people sharing skills and products around the key themes of food, gardening, transport, energy, permaculture, natural fibres, native trees and natural medicine. There will also be some talks and films on e dollars and Peak Oil and how you can get more involved, learn more and become a more resilient locally based community. » Read more
