Tom opened the meeting with information about the TT initiative, its origins and the current activity in Brooklyn. He then introduced our two speakers Sarah Free and Andrew Smith.
Sarah (Sustainability Trust) focused her presentation on the practical things that we can do to conserve energy. She brought lots of samples of bats and draft excluders and pictures of what a well insulated roof should look like. » Read more

Discussed recruitment of new steering group members now Edwina is no longer on the steering group. Ideally we’d like to recruit 2 new members.

Tom to organise mailbox drop for 20th August meeting.

Notes from Public Meeting 2008-07-16

Steering group: present—Barbara, Belinda, Tom; apologies—Dawn; absent—Edwina; notes—Tom.

Belinda gave an intro on Transition Towns, Barbara introduced and then played End of Suburbia, followed by a short discussion.

18 people plus 5 TT people attended, most of who had been before. 9 people had registered their names through the website. National MP Stephen Franks and CityLife News reporter Christa Smalligan were there. 2 people were interested in joining the transport group, and 2 more for the food group.
