In 2008 the Mount Eden Village People, took the idea of planting fruit trees for local communities to the Eden/Albert Community Board. The Board accepted their proposal and provided funds to plant 131 fruit trees on Council land.

These trees will be planted next to playgrounds, in parks and reserves and streets in the wider community of Mt Eden, Epsom and Mt Albert during June and July 2010. » Read more
