Blogspot for information on Peak Oil and climate change
I have set up a personal blog site so that I can express my views on all the things relating to Peak Oil and climate change that are ignored by government. media etc. This means occasionally venting my spleen.
I hope that members of Transition Towns will have a look.
oil peak, climate change and global crisis
A group of us formed the Island Bay World Service just over three years ago, and we now have an Island Bay World Service Transition Towns Group. Peak oil and climate change are two major elements of the comprehensive crisis, a global storm that is building and will hit around 2030. Information on IBWS is at www.ibws.blogspot.com (please read on to the Manifesto), which includes many links.
One campaign is “World Cup don’t come”, pointing out the hypocrisy of pretending to care about greenhouse gases while asking people to travel needlessly to watch a game of rugby.
John Robinson wrote “New Zealand 2030, the world’s lifeboat” for IBWS, which is available for $12. His recent “Cars at the end of an era, transport issues in the New Zealand greenhouse” (for Friends of the Earth) is presently available for a pre-publication $20. The five-minute launch introduction is at

John’s interview with Noel Cheer is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B94VSvUATe8
and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4bFnmzsljk. An interview with Kapiti Radio of Derek Wilson and John Robinson is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAZ9-JZmAyU.
We invite comment and sharing to johnrob@paradise.net.nz.
Great to see your site! What
Great to see your site! What a pity - we moved from Island Bay to Petone about 5 years ago. Would have loved being part of something in Island Bay. Great stuff!
