Community Currencies

Nicola spoke briefly about community currencies, suggesting that it would be good to upskill prior to Miguels visit in April so that we are able to make the most of his expertise on this subject. It would be great to screen "Money As Debt" at the next meeting (March 26th) and have a speaker lined up to answer questions afterwards. Meeting the criteria

  1. We have an understanding of peak oil and climate change as twin drivers and are writing them into our Governance document.
  2. We have formed a steering group of 8 people, 4 from Wellington and 4 from Lower Hutt and had our first steering group meeting.
  3. We are willing to attend a 2 day training course. Just not in Totnes obviously, so we are waiting on NZ training to be sorted out which we understand is coming along.

Wellington Governance

The purpose of this page is to clarify the roles and governance of both the "Transition Towns of Wellington" and the steering committee.
